Mixing and layering prints.

I regularly empty out my wardrobe to remind me of what I own, so I could get an idea of what I could mix together to make a radical outfit. I love tartan and floral together. It's interesting how fabrics that don't belong together So I've been mixing prints and layering a lot lately, and so today I wore this!
This jacket is the best thing ever! This outfit wouldn't be as good without it, and I can't believe it was thrifted! I'm also in love with my new Lime Crime lipstick. (Styletto) It sticks to your lips pretty well throughout the day without having to re-apply as much as you would, and you can wear it with so many different outfits opposed to New Yolk City (yellow). I've been experimenting a lot with it, but I can't think of anything to wear it with without looking too ridiculous. Maybe I should wear an all black outfit? That could work! Does anybody have any suggestions?

What I wore:
- Necklace: Gift from a friend.
- Tartan dress (worn as top): Thrifted.
- Houndstooth belt: Thrifted.
- Magical floral jacket: Thrifted.
- Elephant badge: Handmade.
- Floral dress (worn as skirt): Mums clean-out.
- Studded Gaga gloves: Dangerfield.
- Leopard printed socks: Dangerfield.
- Platforms: Mums clean-out.

Hmmm, who should finish this post off for me today? How about some more Courtney?! I've been fangirling over her a lot lately. I've got a couple of nylon slips from my Mums clean-out, maybe my next "What I wore" post could be Courtney Love inspired?

Feeling Retro-fied.

Yay! Finally, another outfit post! This one was from a couple of days ago when the weather was being friendly and I didn't have to sit in a pool full of ice! Yippee!

I'm very happy with this outfit! I was sorta going for a Retro vibe. I've been wanting to wear this top with these jeans ever since I thrifted them both. (Yep, I thrifted them. What a bargain, right?) These jeans are originally from Sportsgirl, and I think the top was handmade. I love the combination! Especially with the glasses I found at Jay Jays, and my pixie looking haircut, and my platforms, and my..... well, EVERYTHING!

I love these platforms. They are my Mums, well they were. A few days after Christmas a Christmas miracle occured. MY MUM CLEANED OUT HER WARDROBE!! Oh, you have no idea how long I was waiting for that day to come. She made a huuuuuge pile full of things she didn't wear anymore. The pile had just as many pieces as I do in my wardrobe, and the funny part is that it was only one fifth of hers. Haha.
The cleanout didn't make a difference to the size of her wardrobe, but it definitely made one to mine. THANK YOU, MUUUUUUM! \^.^/

I'm so in love with my haircut! Who new you could do so much with short hair? I love the idea that I can style it into the Weetzie cut, along with the Twiggy cut too! I recently dyed it for the third time because the other two dyes I used came out after four washes. Grrr! My hair better not fall out, I don't think I can rock the Sinéad O'connor look.

What I wore:
- Clips in hair: Mums cleanout.
- Star earrings: Diva.
- Blue Glasses: Jay Jays.
- Stripey shirt: Thrifted.
- Smiley badge: Two dollar shop.
- Bracelet: Gift from my Nan and Grandad, for being the most successfull year nine in the school! *accepts cheers and thrown flowers*
- Bell bottom jeans: Thrifted.
- Black platforms: Mums cleanout.

At the moment I'm learning about the Riot Grrrl movement. So I've recently been listening to a lot of Courtney Love and Kathleen Hanna. (I think I have a girl crush on Courtney <3 <3) I'll let them finish off this post for me. Bye Bye.

Mini Tumblr #5 - Alexander McQueen.

Hello again. How's it goin'? Good? Well it's pretty damn hot here in Melbourne! And I can't stand it! The only thing you can do in this weather is, a) Jump into a pool full of ice, or b) Jump into a pool full of ice. But unfortunately, I don't have a pool full of ice. So all I can do is absorb more fashion, and I definitely do not have a problem with that. I'm loving fashion more and more as I discover it. It's so exciting! So here comes another Mini Tumblr.

This post is all about Alexander McQueen. I've been a fan of his for a while, and no, I did not first see McQueen on Tavi.*gasp* My mum has books of his work, and the first time I saw it I thought, "This guy's crazy! How can a single human being create things like this? I love him!"

Above are pieces from the Pre-Fall 2009 collection. They're pretty radical, the hats really bring the outfit together? I'm sorry. I don't really know how to describe how much I love outfits. I don't classify myself as a very good...uhhh...describer? Explainer? Reviewer! That's the word I was going for! So yeah, please be nice. I'm just going to let these pieces (above) speak for themselves, if that's okay. ^.^

These here are from the Resort 2011 collection. I love the long back on the shirt (left picture). From the back it would look like a dress, but from the front, this shirt is just an ordinary shirt! Well, an ordinary Alexander McQueen shirt, hehe!
Of course I can't forget that amazing dress on the right there. I can't even begin to imagine how McQueen made it stick up like that. All I can think of is that must of been some pretty strong interfacing he used, haha!

I've always been a fan of houndstooth fabric, and this Fall 2009 collection drives me cray-zay! I love how people layer patterned fabrics on top of one another. Tavi is a great example of that actually! I've recently been wanting to try it out, but this stupid weather doesn't help! God damn summer.

Here are some of my favourite dresses from McQueen's Pre-Fall 2012 collection. The shape of the skirts are so perfect! along with the fabric, which is just....*sigh* dreamy.

This dress is from the Fall 2010 collection. The fabric is amazing! and so are the shoes! and the dress the fabric is made into! and the.....dah! I just love it! This dress Lady Gaga is wearing looks like it belongs in this collection too, but it isn't. She must of gotten it made especially for her.

I absolutely L.O.V.E this collection. It's the Pre-Fall 2013 collection. Don't you think every piece is perfect? I mean, there is not one flaw in this collection. I would get married to absolutely anybody if it meant I could wear that dress (on the far left). I demand you all to check out the rest of the collection, but be careful. I fell into a one-hundred-thousand-and-fifty-one-minute-coma just after looking at the first piece. So good luck.

And to finish of this post of awesome Alexander McQueen-ness, this orange delight from the Pre-Fall 2011 collection. There are no words to describe this outfit. It looks simple at first, but then looks complicated after you realise it's made from Alexander McQueen. Do you know what I mean?

Now to really finish off this post, with some more Lorde. Bye.

Mini Tumblr #4 - Miu Miu.

Hello my kitty cats! Yes, yes, I know my last post was a Mini Tumblr. It's just I'm discovering so much new stuff and I want to express how amazing they are right here on my blarg. Who said there were rules, right? So, lets get it on! \>.</

This Mini Tumblr is brought to you by Miu Miu! No, no, this isn't the first time I've rested my peepers on Miu Miu. I first saw Miu Miu on Tavi, (Duh!) and I've only just decided to go that step further to look at their collections. My favourite would have to be their Spring 2010 collection. You know the one, with the cats, sparrows and naked ladies printed on collars and everything else.

^These shoes are so rad!^

And so are these, they're from the 2011 Fall collection.

I think I have a crush on glitter! Shhh, don't tell him/her/it(?)

Another collection I am a fan of is their newest Spring 2014 collection. I just love how well made and cosy the coats look.

Oh, dreamy, fluffy, aqua coat on the far right. You must belong to meeeeee!

And to finish off this post, Tavi in some Miu Miu.

Actually, here is some Lorde to finish off this post. I've been fangirling over her lately. Have you read the interview Tavi had with her? Oh, wow. It was truly magical.

Okay, this is actually the end of this post. Bye now!

Mini Tumblr #3 - Comme des Garçons!

Wow, did anyone notice the mega spasm my blog had? God damn Polyvore!

Lately I've been fangirling over Tavi. Well I've always been a fangirl, but nothing yells SUPA FANGIRL like someone reading her five year long blerg from the very beginning. I've learnt so much just from the first two years of her blog, especially fashion-wise. I've always wondered how people know when their favourite designers release a new collection, and because of the amazing Tavi I've learnt that they use a little website called
The thing is, most of the collections I find on there are the same to me, they all seem meh. The only designers I really admire are Meadham Kirchhoff and Romance Was Born. But I've heard about this designer's name floating around the blogosphere, and I've been meaning to check her out. Her name is Rei Kawakubo, and her label is Comme des Garçons. I find her collections interesting, although I'm not a huge fan of all of them. But there are some I love so much that make me hyperventilate, and so I want to show you my favourite pieces from my favourite collections right here on my Mini Tumblr. Yay!

These pieces (above) are my favourite from the Comme des Garçons Spring 2006 collection. I love how Rei combines plaid with plaid with plaid with plaid. They remind me of this outfit Tavi pulled together way back when she was 12.

The outfits in this Comme des Garçons Spring 2008 collection is pretty colourful compared to the other ones Rei comes up with. I love all of the layers of colourfulness and pattern-ness in the second, third, and fourth pieces from the right side. I also love the bloomers (second from the left). Well they're more like bloomer harnesses. Which are TOTALLY AWESOME! I neeeeeed a pair. Gimme Gimme!

This collection is...well...I'm kinda stuck with how to describe this one. I just love it so much. I don't think there is one fault in this collection. Especially that coat on the right, how it's slanted. I think that's pretty damn radical, Rei.

I've left my absolute favourite for last. You guys must know it was exceedingly difficult for me to narrow the pieces down to a specific amount. I love the harnesses, the lip and heart cutouts, and...wait, is that a jumpsuit containing bloomers? A BLOOMER JUMPSUIT?! *Hyperventilating* *Hyperventilating* *passes out*

Well I think you guys have realised by now I have a bloomer addiction. Wow, weird. -__-

I hope you have all enjoyed me fangirling over Comme des Garçons. I'm sure I'll be back with another new discovery that I probably should've known about years ago. Tata!

Meadham Kirchhoff for meee!

I have returned once again with something handmade, and I'm, like, soooo excited about it!

I've been admiring the glorious work of Meadham Kirchhoff's Topshop collection for as long as I can remember, (Me and my mum even ran down to our closest Topshop just to stand next to Meadham Kirchhoff, BUT THERE WAS NONE THERE! I nearly cried.) I've also obsessed over their spring/summer 2012 collection as well (I mean, who hasn't, right?) and basically have been praying for Meadham Kirchhoff to magically appear in my wardrobe. They can do that, right? If they can make these somehow manmade collections, they could teleport them into peoples wardrobes, yeah? Am I not correct? Jeez, I've got to shut up. Lets get back on topic shall we?
Anyways, my mum said she could attempt to make me my own Meadham Kirchhoff item. I demanded this dress, but with shorts instead of a skirt. It turned out AWESOME! (You'll see a photo of it some time soon.) She was going to make another, but I really wanted to try making one myself. So I did! A pink one! And here it is!

Ignore my gross legs. They're peeling from that sunburn. Ugh!

I started off with appliquéing the face. Jeez, do you know how hard that is? For my first time it looked pretty good I guess, but I didn't think it was good enough quality for the dress. (IT HAD TO TURN OUT PERFECT!) So I made it into a pillow, which looks adorable with my Disney Princess doona cover by the way :), and let mum appliqué the face for meh, thanks mummy! <3

This one was going to have shorts too, but the crotch looked super weird. Mum helped me end the weird, and cut them into a skirt for me.Thanks again mummy! \^.^/

Even though I'm wearing a fake Meadham Kirchhoff dress, I'm still wearing some real Meadham Kirchhoff. Well not Kirchhoff, just Meadham. Edward Meadham make this crown for the first Rookie Yearbook, which I am lucky enough to have on my bookshelf. So, yeah. I'm wearing Edward Meadham. Take that!

It's so hard to find a good spot to take photos around my house. First it's my room, then my backyard, now my frontyard, where my neighbours can get weirded out. I like this spot. Mwahaha!

What I wore:
- Rookie crown: Rookie Yearbook One.
- Ice cream earrings: Diva.
- White frilly shirt: Thrifted.
- Pink Meadham Kirchhoff dress: Handmade.
- White frilly socks: Dangerfield.
- Sparky shoes: D.I.Yed by meeeeee.

P.S. Do you like my new background? I like changing it regularly. I do it to feel refreshed, so get used to it!
